Edition No. 04

Katharina Sieverding: "Untitled", 1998

Over the past thirty years, Katharina Sieverding has worked on a series of cinematic self-portraits, which have evolved from her seminal 1969 work Life-Death. For the Deutsche Guggenheim's 1998 exhibition of her work, Sieverding has created a body of work in which she poses as the observer par excellence. Edition No. 4 was created by an unusual procedure of pigment transfer on special paper, and shares the almost surreal character of all her work. A true work of art exclusively for the exhibition Katharina Sieverding: Works on Pigment.
