Curator’s/Artist’s Talk
The curator of the show, Joan Young, presents the discussion between Phoebe Washburn and the catalogue author Ben Hamper. Known in the United States for his collaboration with Michael Moore, Hamper in the 1990s published an autobiographical documentation on his time as an employee of General Motors.
The tour will be held in English.

21st Long Night of the Museums
Parallel to the exhibition Phoebe Washburn: Regulated Fool's Milk Meadow, Deutsche Guggenheim presents a children’s program for 5- to 10-year olds from 4 to 6 p.m. in the exhibition hall and the roofed atrium. Starting at 10 p.m., the filmic portrait “About Phoebe Washburn” by Moritz Wulf, a BOOMTOWNmedia-production, will be screened as a loop in the atrium of Deutsche Bank.

On the Relation of Art and Sculpture, lecture by Wolfram Putz / Thomas Willemeit, GRAFT
The architects Wolfram Putz and Thomas Willemeit belong to the internationally renowned architect’s office GRAFT, which, among others, conceived the successful design hotel Q! in Berlin. Their lecture is dedicated to the relation of space and sculpture in contemporary architecture.

Form and situation - Sculpture in the 21st Century, lecture by Dr. Brigitte Franzen
The scholar of art and cultural studies, Brigitte Franzen, studied art history, German literature, sociology and cultural anthropology in Karlsruhe, Marburg and Vienna. She has been working since 2005 as curator for contemporary art at the Westfälische Landesmuseum in Münster and in 2007 is curator of "sculpture projects münster". Her academic and curatorial work is focused on the relationship between art, landscape, architecture and the public.

Adventure Art (for 4- to 12-year-olds) and a guided tour through the exhibition. Afterwards there is a brunch in the Atrium of the Deutsche Bank.

A Second Life: Recycled Sculptures

Can one create art out of found objects? The New York-based artist Phoebe Washburn says “yes” and builds a house made of wood and paper in which she lets grass grow. We will take a look at her little “grass factory” and afterwards build our own figures using cardboard, egg cartons and newspaper.
Duration: approx. 1.5 hours
